However it is only possible to replace a jewel in an item of equipment once. Using more jewels in the movement can make it feel more comfortable and is usually done to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. Jewels also enhance performance and make an outer layer that is more durable than steel, so that the repeated friction caused by pivots does not cause damage to the movement. A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs that can enhance the appearance of your shields and weapons. These provide a small bonus and can be swapped freely but aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded, as jewelry, by visiting the Jeweler for gold, and also a Scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be taken out from the inventory, and they are returned to the inventory. They can also be obtained from vendors as well as through doing road interaction. They can also be crafted by jewelers, and then found or purchased on the Trading Post. The first trinkets a player unlocks will be the cloak. It grants an unimportant but beneficial boost to movement speed and the ability to escape.
